Dem i kælderenThe Danish translation of The People in the Basement has just arrived from the printing presses of Bookwell in Finland. The first run consists of 1043 copies. The official release date from Tiderne Skifter  is Friday 29th September 2006. Pop up those bottles of Champagne!

A rough translation was made for the Scandinavian media when the book was nominated for The Nordic Council Literature Prize, earlier this year. In spite of a somewhat handicapped translation the reviews were good. It is never the less a great relief for the author and everyone involved to see this proper translation from Susanne Grubb reach the bookstores in Copenhagen.

A new book sleeve was made for the occasion. The illustration shows an event in the beginning of the book, when the  family car gets stuck in a stormy Icelandic river.
